We decode geopolitics

The Strategic Intelligence Institute is a European non-profit think tank delivering long-term, evidence-based clarity on global politics, economics, and security through commentary and analysis, helping entrepreneurs and investors make sense of a fast-changing world.

Because of our long-term view, we may sound contrarian, bold and unapologetic, but it’s simply a byproduct of putting events in historical perspective, with time horizons in decades instead of months.

Our work reflects a commitment to liberal democratic values, including the rule of law, human rights, and individual freedoms. We closely monitor authoritarian regimes and emerging threats to international stability, emphasizing the importance of informed engagement and proactive policy responses.

Our history

Our founder, Florian Morata, developed an interest in geopolitics in 2021, prior to the full-scale, illegal invasion of Ukraine. His curiosity was sparked during a family dinner in Switzerland, where he was shocked to discover that some individuals fully believed in Russian propaganda. Disturbed by this experience, Florian began writing articles to debunk Russian lies, engaging in discussions with friends, and even started a WhatsApp group where curious minds could ask him about geopolitics. His passion for the field grew rapidly.

By 2022, his efforts evolved into activism. Florian began reaching out to Western politicians, urging them to support Ukraine, and realized the need to create a dedicated platform to unite like-minded individuals and express his views on various global issues. This led to the founding of a non-profit organization in 2023 — a think tank — registered in Estonia, where he resides.

In 2025, the organization’s mission expanded to attract more volunteers who shared its values and vision. It also shifted focus toward decoding geopolitics, not only for the general public but also for businesses and investors, as it’s the founder background.
